The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) is the peak non-government youth organisation in Western Australia. We operate primarily as a human rights organisation that seeks to address the exclusion of young people in a rapidly changing society. Our vision for Western Australia is one that celebrates and engages young people in all aspects of the community. Our role is to strengthen the trust, cooperation, collaboration; professionalism and voice of the non-government youth service sector to better serve the young people of Western Australia. YACWA aims to provide a united, independent and active advocate for the non-government youth sector and young people that is both supported and respected by the sector and the wider community. YACWA is widely respected and boasts a strong and diverse membership which includes policy makers, academics, youth workers and importantly, young people who are all passionate about achieving positive and meaningful outcomes for the young people of Western Australia. YACWA advocates for young people’s varied needs at local, State and Federal Government levels whilst working to engender and enhance positive community attitudes towards young people. YACWA provides a voice and acts as a role model for the definition and demonstration of youth participation. Our work is governed by four guiding principles of respect, equity, integrity and the celebration of diversity.

Youth against AIDS is a youth-led organization that provides sexual education in schools and youth facilities all over Europe and beyond. YAA is the largest, most awarded youth-led awareness campaign. YAA provides a space for young people where they can express any lack of knowledge without being ashamed. YAA uses a peer-to-peer approach allowing them to have dialogues at eye level. Furthermore, they do targeted publicity work to help cultivate an educated and diverse society. Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world’s largest global network of dance. It fulfills its mission of dance education through scholarship auditions, master classes, alumni services, educational and outreach activities, performances, and films. Mission Statement: To support and develop world-class dancers, ages 9-19, of all economic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds by providing scholarship auditions, performance and education opportunities, and by serving as the global network of dance, connecting students, teachers, schools, dance companies, dancers, and audiences. Over $4,000,000 has been awarded at YAGP in scholarships to the world’s leading dance schools. More than 100,000 dancers have participated in YAGP’s workshops, scholarship auditions and master classes worldwide. Over 450 YAGP alumni are now dancing with 80 companies around the world, including American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dutch National Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, and Washington Ballet, among many others. To identify promising young dance talent, YAGP conducts auditions at 29 regional locations in the United States, and in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Perú, Spain and other regions.

Youth and Families Matter (YFM) is a registered charity working at the heart of the community to improve the wellbeing of children, young people and families. It has been running for over 20 years and each day the team are getting alongside individuals and helping them to make changes, make decisions and access the right support. Last year YFM worked with over 1300 individuals through a programme of one-to-one support, groups, courses and activities.

Youth Centre for Change is a residential treatment facility located in London, Ontario, for youth between 12-18 years old, who have demonstrated sexually intrusive behaviours and/or have sexual offences. In accordance with the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) best practices guidelines, YCFC offers sexual and mental health programming in a trauma informed and strengths-based format. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is the primary approach, while integrating additional evidence-based and skills-oriented therapies. Each youth will engage in a process of developing an individualized, structured, and adaptable clinical path for their therapeutic work while at YCFC. The collaborative intervention plan is created based on each youths Risk-Need Responsivity Principles. These principles include developmental and cognitive abilities, diversity, protective factors, mental health issues, presenting problem(s), and individual risk factors which maximize the likelihood of success in treatment. Youth are encouraged to participate in both individual clinical sessions and group therapy for a variety of topics include consent, boundaries, healthy relationships, life skills, emotion regulation, social skills, sexual health, sexual fantasies and the media, victim empathy, and offence prevention planning.
