Installé depuis près de 20 ans à la Friche la Belle de Mai, pôle artistique et culturel marseillais, ZINC est un centre de création « arts et cultures numériques ». ZINC est un producteur qui accompagne les artistes, programme leurs œuvres et, dune façon générale, encourage les formes artistiques qui recourent aux technologies numériques. ZINC est un espace ouvert, avec deux lieux (médialab et fablab) animés et dédiés à tous pour pratiquer, sinitier, se cultiver, au numérique et au multimédia. ZINC travaille dans une logique de coopération en animant des réseaux de professionnels et coordonnant des plateformes collaboratives. Développant ses projets avec des artistes associés et des partenaires, ZINC articule son action entre production, médiation, et coopération, dans une forte volonté de reconnaissance et de recherche des formes artistiques multimédias. ZINC accueille les artistes en résidence, diffuse des œuvres, développe des ateliers de créativité, anime des rencontres, conçoit et réalise des projets de développement culturel, coordonne des plateformes déchanges et inscrit son travail sur différents territoires. Depuis juin 2016, ZINC a lancé avec Seconde Nature, Chroniques - Imaginaires numériques, un parcours sensible qui reflète la diversité des esthétiques contemporaines la vitalité du territoire Aix-Marseille.

Zinc Arts is a dynamic, leading arts and education charity that believes passionately in arts without exception. We work with people of all ages and abilities, but specialise in working with children, young people and adults who are disabled, learning disabled or mental health service users. We provide beneficial inclusive opportunities for participants to be engaged creatively, educationally and vocationally in the arts, motivating individuals to achieve their full potential. Zinc Arts is based in Chipping Ongar, Essex, and it represents the UK's first fully accessible Residential Arts Centre. Since our new building opened in 2011, Zinc Arts Centre has been turning heads across the arts, education and charity sectors. It's not the wealth of versatile high-quality spaces that makes our centre truly unique, it is instead our socially responsible approach to venue hire that sets us apart from your everyday venue. Venue hire at Zinc Arts Centre actively supports the programmes that we run, with all proceeds being fed back into the high-quality creative activities we deliver to people of all ages and abilities. Zinc Arts also undertakes funded outreach work with participants and organisations across the Eastern Region. We actively seek out new creative and innnovative partnerships across the UK to ensure that we can reach the hardest to reach people and provide them with access to high quality, fun and engaging arts activities.
