Das Zukunftszentrum KI NRW ist ein Konsortium aus fünf Institutionen, die gemeinsam mit den Unternehmen die digitale Transformation voranbringen wollen. Zentrale Aufgabe ist die Unterstützung von kleinen sowie mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) und Beschäftigten durch Wissensvermittlung und modellhafte Erprobung von Technologien zur Digitalisierung und Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI). Der Nutzen und die Potenziale digitaler Anwendungen und künstlicher Intelligenz werden gemeinsam mit den Unternehmensführungen und Belegschaften herausgearbeitet, bestehende Bedenken durch praxisnahe Beratung und Qualifizierung abgebaut und neue wie innovative Arbeits- und Geschäftsprozesse können dadurch angestoßen werden. Das Projekt Zukunftszentrum KI NRW wird im Rahmen des Programms Zukunftszentren durch das Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales und vom Ministerium für Arbeit, Gesundheit und Soziales NRW sowie durch die Europäische Union über den Europäischen Sozialfonds Plus (ESF Plus) gefördert.
