The Art Connection in the Capital Region (ACCR) enriches lives by providing access to original works of visual art to underserved communities throughout the Greater Metropolitan Washington D.C. area—enabling individuals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the transformative effects of art in their daily lives. ACCR introduces artwork into qualifying nonprofits through an innovative art donation and placement program and an ongoing exhibition series entitled Art + Community. The artwork, which is generously donated by artists and collectors, is permanently gifted to participating nonprofits for exhibition within their agencies' public areas. By working in partnership with the nonprofit agencies, ACCR can share the beauty and inspiration that art enables individuals, families, and children confronted with challenging circumstances as they work to improve their situations, and ultimately, their lives.
