Brass Tacks is a women's fashion line that translates natural and hand-crafted textiles into modern silhouettes. Launched in 2007, the company was started by Anaka Narayanan in her quest for well-tailored, shapely clothes made out of Indian textiles. The name, Brass Tacks, comes from the expression, "getting down to brass tacks", which means getting down to basics. At Brass Tacks we focus on what we believe should be the foundation of every garment: quality fabric, great cuts, and excellent tailoring. Brass Tacks employs 21 people at its workshop, where the garments are manufactured, 4 people at its retail outlet, and 2 people who manage the online store.
