Villa Rica is located just 35 miles west of downtown Atlanta and is home to The First Gold Rush in Georgia in 1826 and also home to Thomas A. Dorsey the "Father of Gospel Music". A good portion of our downtown is on the historic register, with the majority of our building dating from the late 1800's to the very early 1900's. Our city abounds with parks and sports parks, with sports available for all ages thu our Park & Recreation Department. You will not want to miss eating at one of our tasty downtown restaurants and then head out to Pine Mountain Gold Museum and Park for a day of adventure, seeing the animals, exploring the remains of the gold rush and walking the trails to panning for gold and gems, viewing our historic video and touring the museum.
