Dubai Police was founded on the 1st of June 1956, following a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, assigning His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, presidency of the police and social safety in Dubai. There forth, selecting the "Naif Fort,"​ currently the Naif Police Station in Deira, as the headquarters at that time. By the year 1973, the headquarters was relocated to the current location of the Dubai Police headquarters. The initial logo of Dubai Police, designed by Commander Clayton, carried over by the leader (Lodemeier) and replaced by another leader, Jack Briggs, who initiated the association of police work. He was also the first leader to issue the first written police convention in 1968. Dubai Police is a modern police, a force of more than twenty-two thousand, both military and civilian, with high levels of training, education and expertise in most fields and specialties making it an integral part of ensuring safety and peace of United Arab Emirates.

The Public Prosecution was formed as an independent department by order of His Excellency Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, State vice-president, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai, by virtue of law (8/1992). The Public Prosecution was instituted to achieve justice as concerns the public rights of the Emirate. The Public Prosecution has exclusive jurisdiction to institute and follow-up criminal lawsuits, being part of the judiciary set-up exercising the powers of investigation and indictment and referring the accused to the competent courts should it be established that he is implicated in the crime. In addition, the Public Prosecution supervises the development stages of the lawsuit in the criminal courts. In performing its duties, the Public Prosecution emphasizes on streamlining and expediting the procedures without affecting the smooth course of justice. It extends its services to the public, assists it to obtain its rights and enforces the implementation of justice. The Public Prosecution is in charge of the writs of judicial assistance concerning the surrender and follow-up of criminals in cooperation with the international criminal police in order to prevent the escape of the culprit from one state to the other thus seriously violating the State’s right in punishing the criminal.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (Dubai SME) is a governmental organisation aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in the city of Dubai by creating a business enabling environment to facilitate the development of new businesses and stimulate entrepreneurial activities among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). It supports SMEs (start ups and high added value SME) in order to actively participate in the economic growth of Dubai. This support is done primarily through promoting entrepreneurship and providing a wide package of services that include consultation and guidance, licensing exemptions, financing, business relations development and incubation services.

Dubai South’s economic platform supports every conceivable kind of business and industry. The city is also home to the now-operational Al Maktoum International Airport –the largest airport in the world when complete – and the World Expo 2020.
