Folkeuniversitetet i Aarhus, Emdrup og Herning serverer den nyeste viden fra forskningens verden. Vidensformidlingen foregår i øjenhøjde gennem forelæsninger, vidensarrangementer og festivaler. Folkeuniversitetet er en dynamisk uafhængig institution, der er tilknyttet Aarhus Universitet. Missionen for Folkeuniversitetet er at udbrede forskningsresultater og metoder for offentligheden på en let forståelig måde. Deltagerne på Folkeuniversitetet bliver undervist af forskere og universitetsundervisere fra Aarhus Universitet og andre danske forskningsinstitutioner samt af en række freelance eksperter. Ud over universitetet samarbejder Folkeuniversitetet med en række kultur- og vidensinstitutioner. Folkeuniversitetets forelæsninger og vidensarrangementer er åbne for alle. Næsten alle faglige og uddannelsesmæssige baggrunde er repræsenteret blandt deltagerne. Hvert år arrangerer og udbyder Folkeuniversitetet i Aarhus, Emdrup og Herning ca. 1150 forelæsninger, omkring 800 vidensarrangementer samt ekskursioner og studierejser. Folkeuniversitetet dækker en bred vifte af fagområder, der omfatter: organisation, ledelse, kommunikation, sundhedsvidenskab, psykologi, pædagogik, arkitektur, design, kunst, film, litteratur, musik, sprog, kultur, samfundsvidenskab, historie, arkæologi, naturvidenskab, teknologi, teologi og filosofi. I 2019 deltog omkring 70.000 i Folkeuniversitetets forelæsninger og vidensarrangementer. Formålet med Folkeuniversitetets forelæsninger og vidensarrangementer er, at deltagerne kan dyrke deres interesser, få udvidet deres perspektiver, få ny viden og inspiration til arbejdet eller få opfrisket deres baggrundsviden.

Folkhälsan Research Center Folkhälsan Research Center, responsible for Folkhälsan’s research activities, is an internationally renowned unit with focus on biomedical and health research within programs on genetics, preventive medicine and public health. The Center has a staff of approximately 200 people. Folkhälsan Welfare Folkhälsan Välfärd Ab is a company wholly owned by Samfundet Folkhälsan. The company manages service production on behalf of Folkhälsan and provides services in the Swedish speaking areas of Finland. Folkhälsan’s Federation Folkhälsan’s Federation combines the roles of a health-promoting voluntary organization and an expert institution. The Federation consists of four regional associations, which in turn consist of 98 independent local associations with a total of around 19,000 members. The Federation’s main areas of knowledge are voluntary activities, health-promoting activities, lifestyle issues, family work and social relations.
