Dal 1928 ad oggi, l’Istituto è stato protagonista di grandi traguardi clinici e sanitari e continua a essere punto di riferimento nella ricerca oncologica. L’istituto svolge un servizio pubblico caratterizzato da un elevato livello di attività diagnostico terapeutiche e di ricerca, sempre guidate da principi fondamentali e imprescindibili di rispetto della dignità dell’essere umano, di tutela del paziente e del suo diritto a ricevere l’assistenza e le cure mediche più appropriate. In Istituto si conduce una ricerca traslazionale che segue i due percorsi «From bench to bedside» e ritorno, unendo i dati della pratica clinica con le evidenze riscontrate in laboratorio. Dalla valutazione sistematica dell’effetto delle cure al di fuori dei trial clinici, la «real world evidence», ricaviamo segnali da riportare in clinica e in laboratorio. L’Istituto ha programmi e progetti in ogni ambito e fase di ricerca, preclinica, clinica epidemiologico-sanitaria. Gli studi vengono implementati attraverso team multidisciplinari, che consentono di percorrere le due direzioni. INT è coordinatore numerose sperimentazioni cliniche nazionali e internazionali, anche con studi di fase precoce. Poter partecipare agli studi clinici permette ai pazienti di avere accesso a farmaci altrimenti non disponibili, ma sempre più specifici e personalizzati, questa è anche un’opportunità di cura. Per questo, l’accesso agli studi è considerato un diritto del paziente. Siamo in grado di offrire percorsi di screening, diagnosi differenziale, terapia farmacologica e non e programmi di sorveglianza, personalizzati e mirati al profilo e al rischio individualizzato. Interveniamo in modo personalizzato sul tumore e sul microambiente, interfacciando il tumore e il suo ospite. Si tratta di un ritorno ad una visione più olistica del paziente. L’istituto è molto attivo nella prevenzione secondaria, identificando profili prognostico-predittivi e ottimizzando l’uso dei nuovi farmaci immunologici.

The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie is an Italian public health authority that operates in the fields of animal health and food safety. The Institute employs veterinarians, biologists, chemists, biotechnologists, technicians and administration staff. Its activities are: diagnostic services on animals; analytical controls on food; monitoring plans and disease control; scientific research; training for veterinarians and the food industry staff; scientific communication; promotion of animal welfare. The Institute is responsible for the North East (of) Italy, and it is part of a network of 10 similar institutes distributed throughout Italy. It is a technical-scientific reference centre for the Italian Ministry of Health; local governments; local health authorities; veterinary professionals; the livestock sector; food companies; the general public. It also collaborates with international organizations such as the European Commission; the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA); the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE); the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
