Dr. Lilia A. Abron, the CEO/President and Founder of PEER Consultants, P.C. (PEER) is a trailblazer, a History Maker™, an entrepreneur. She is the first African-American woman in the nation to earn a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and the first African-American to start an engineering consulting firm focused on the environment and its environmental issues. Senior students are trained as Peer Leaders, and lead small groups of younger students in weekly structured sessions. The program explores four key concepts: resilience, sense of self, connectedness, and sense of possibility. The program equips students with the skills and tools to build strong relationships and positively navigate life. Students learn the social and emotional literacy skills to better manage life’s ups and downs.
