Waiora was founded in 2004 by a small team of people with more than 130 years of experience between them in the direct selling and healthy living industries. This team not only believed that the average person needed a way to participate in the growing global economy, we also believed that by combining the healthy living market and word-of-mouth marketing channel, we could create a great new global company that could truly help people rediscover their youth, health, future and dreams.

The Waipā District lies in the heart of New Zealand's Waikato region and houses a resident population of around 56,200. The district stretches over 1447 square kilometres with a strong agricultural community as well as a rich cultural and historical heritage. The main urban populations reside in the towns of Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Kihikihi, Pirongia and Ohaupo. As the local authority for the district we deliver a wide range of services from our offices in Te Awamutu and Cambridge. Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand established Wairaka Land Company (WLC) to implement Unitecs Property Strategy. This strategy, which has informed submissions to the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan (PAUP) process, will support Auckland by creating a new community known as the Wairaka Precinct on Unitecs Mt Albert site.
