Looking to high performance sports, the requirement to find the most suitable person to achieve a set performance goal, has left many trainers stumped trying to replicate this selection methodology and success. Traditionally, high performance sport and corporate recruitment rely on classic selection methodologies, which can be unfairly biased due to human error and untested selection batteries. ART has transcended these classical tests by combining tried and tested methods used around the world for selecting the greatest warriors for battle and applying it in a modern sporting environment, through research, training development and ongoing validation. There has been much scientific research conducted into understanding the differential abilities of people coping with negative experiences. Resilience is a main coping mechanism with a set of protective factors that modify, amend, or alter a person’s response to some environmental hazards that predisposes one to a maladaptive outcome. Research regarding resilience protective factors fall into two main categories, namely individual dispositions and environmental factors. These factors contribute to the competencies of individuals to develop problem-solving strategies needed to achieve an optimal balance between situational demands and environmental factors. Resilience to these factors can be directly associated with poor performance. The Individual’s ability to cope with challenges faced by applying correct psychological skills is the ART difference.
