Der Samariterbund gehört zu den größten Gesundheits- und Sozialorganisationen Österreichs. Die Bandbreite der Tätigkeiten des Samariterbundes hat sich in den letzten Jahren vom klassischen Rettungs- und Krankentransportwesen insbesondere in den Bereichen Gesundheit, Pflege und Soziales stark erweitert. Heute deckt der ASBÖ ein breites Spektrum an Dienstleitungen ab, von der Sanitätsbetreuung großer Events wie dem Donauinselfest über soziale Dienste wie z. B. Heimhilfe, Hauskrankenpflege, Notrufsysteme oder die Betreuung von Asylsuchenden und Wohnungslosen bis hin zur Katastrophenhilfe. Zudem betreibt der Samariterbund Senioren- und Pflegekompetenzzentren. Seit der Gründung vor mehr als 80 Jahren ist der Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Österreichs seiner obersten Verpflichtung treu geblieben: Die haupt- und ehrenamtlichen MitarbeiterInnen der Non-Profit-Organisation leisten für ältere Menschen, Kranke, Verletzte und in Not Geratene Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch – unabhängig von deren ethnischer Zugehörigkeit, Religion und Weltanschauung. Insgesamt zählt der Samariterbund mehr als 240.000 Mitglieder und Förderer in ganz Österreich. Bei der Erfüllung der vielfältigen Aufgaben sind über 8.200 ehren- und hauptamtliche MitarbeiterInnen im Einsatz.

Our task is to serve the interest of, and provide services to, Sweden's approximately 30 unemployment insurance funds. This means we develop their IT systems, support them in interpreting the laws of the unemployment insurance and create public opinion on important issues concerning the funds and their members.
