Founded by Karen Wroe in July 2012, Art with a Heart (AWAH) is a UK registered charity (1159034). Managed by trustees, our mission is to raise the awareness of the Arts and Heritage by making them accessible to a wider audience; while supporting the development of young adults. This is achieved through organising, managing and deploying the annual programme of events, including free art exhibitions, heritage displays and workshops in the town. There is a free creative area that an be enjoyed by all, including families during the Centre's opening hours (Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm). In addition AWAH delivers a number of outreach activities and provides the artistic content and support to a number of actvities, including Altrincham In Bloom. This would not be possible without the support of our volunteers who deliver in excess of 6,000 volunteer hours per annum. By encouraging people to visit and dwell in AWAH, between 15,000 to 17,000 visitors per annum, we contributes to the regeneration of the town centre. AWAH is listed on TripAdvisor as a place to visit in Cheshire and Altrincham and has received a number of awards including Highly Commended from North West In Bloom, Commended by Town Alive and the runner up for the Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce Tourism Award. We are also a member of the Association of Independent Museums. Registered with Vinspired and GMCVO, Art with a Heart is able to support the development of young volunteers. As an independent organisation receiving no government funding, Art with a Heart relies on donations, fundraisers, sponsorship and successful funding applications. Donations can be made through the Virgin Money Giving (http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com ) page or in the Arts and Heritage Centre.
