Experience the art of British Columbia, from the traditional works of the province’s First Peoples through to its contemporary masters, in one of Canada’s most treasured wilderness destinations. The Audain Art Museum’s permanent collection of nearly 200 works of art is a visual journey through the history of art from coastal British Columbia. Spanning from the 18th century to present day. The collection contains one of the world’s finest collections of Northwest Coast First Nations masks; a large collection of works by Emily Carr, encompassing all periods of her artistic career; as well as art by important post-war modernists such as E.J. Hughes, Gordon Smith and Jack Shadbolt. In addition to these historic works, the Collection showcases art by internationally renowned, contemporary British Columbia artists including Jeff Wall, Dana Claxton, Marianne Nicolson, Rodney Graham and Stan Douglas, among others. In addition, the Museum displays up to three special exhibitions a year, encompassing a variety of mediums, themes, artists and time periods. Special exhibitions produced either in-house or on loan from other institutions are intended to enrich the museum experience as well as generate new perspectives on the permanent collection.

Elle intervient auprès de ses membres comme outil d’aide à la décision publique dans les champs de l’urbanisme, de l’aménagement et du développement des territoires. Son périmètre d’intervention, sur les Pyrénées-Atlantiques et le sud des Landes, comprend outre l’Etat, la Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, le Conseil Départemental des Pyrénées-Atlantiques, et les deux communautés d’agglomération du Pays Basque et de Pau Béarn Pyrénées, l'intégralité des Communautés de Communes des Pyrénées-Atlantiques (Béarn des gaves, Lacq-Orthez, Luys en Béarn, Haut Béarn, Nord Est Béarn, Pays de Nay, Vallée d'Ossau), les Communautés de Communes landaises du Seignanx, de MACS et d'Orthe et Arrigans, les SCoT Pays Basque Seignanx, et du Grand Pau, le Syndicat des mobilités Pays Basque Adour et celui de Pau Béarn Pyrénées. Outil d’ingénierie publique mutualisé, l’AUDAP a pour missions essentielles d’observer et de comprendre les évolutions urbaines et sociologiques des territoires adhérents, de réaliser des études thématiques (habitat, mobilité, économie,…), de participer à la définition des politiques d’aménagement et de développement et à l’élaboration des documents d’urbanisme et de planification (SCoT, PLUi …). L'équipe est composée d'une 40aine de collaborateurs aux compétences pluridisciplinaires (architectes, urbanistes, économistes, statisticiens…) et aux savoir-faire complémentaires (environnement, paysage, politique de l’habitat, des mobilités, développement économique, projet urbain, traitement et représentation de la donnée …). L'AUDAP possède deux antennes l'une à Bayonne et l'autre à Pau. Le personnel est réparti sur les deux sites.
