Organizational Core Values AWARE, Inc.s core values were developed through a consultative process involving the organizations Board of Directors and staff at all levels. The principles reflected in this document constitute a value compass for board, staff, volunteers and other individuals working on behalf of the organization. Impact We are committed to making a difference and affecting change in our community. We will do this by supporting and empowering survivors, and being leaders in the movement to eliminate domestic and sexual violence. We take advantage of as many opportunities as possible to educate residents of all ages in Jackson County about our mission, services, and programs. Empowerment We believe in the right of everyone to live a violence-free life. Our dedicated staff and volunteers use all available resources to improve the lives of survivors and empower them to create an independent life, free from violence and fear. Commitment We are dedicated to and passionate about our mission of empowering survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We treat our clients with compassion and acceptance. We will always exhibit professional and personal integrity, and adhere to high ethical and professional standards in our work.

The Awareness Foundation is an ecumenical, educational charity (No. 1099873 in UK) which was founded by The Revd Nadim Nassar in London in 2003 to empower Christians everywhere to be a counter force of love and peace to the intolerance and mistrust that now prevail in so many of our communities, and to build understanding between the faiths. We are active in the UK, North America (USA and Canada), the Middle East (Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine), and in Hong Kong. Our Royal Patron is HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO. Through our Little Heroes programme, we have enabled over 2,000 displaced children aged 6 to 12 in Syria by giving them a new hope and a new energy to live their life without fear so that they can become young peacemakers in their schools and communities. We have taught over 700 young people to be Ambassadors for Peace in Syria and Iraq, showing them how to handle conflict, how to transform and empower their communities, and how to build bridges with other faiths to promote peace and understanding. The Awareness Foundation is widely recognised for its uniqueness in offering these services, peace-making in the Middle East and strengthening community bonds in the West. Outside the Middle East, the Foundation helps Christians live their faiths fully and faithfully in this diverse, globalised world through education and through work with Christian denominations that help them to prepare local responses to fundamentalism and fanaticism, especially through our PAX online video channel. We also work with other religions to emphasise that an enlightened, thoughtful faith that preaches hospitality and generosity is a wellspring of community harmony rather than division. The Awareness Foundation has 5 full-time staff, plus one part-time staff member in Syria, and many volunteers around the world.
