Aecor Marine are a, UK based, Global supplier to the Marine industry, primarily on passenger vessels within the Cruise and Ferry Segment. We work closely with a selection of Premium Marine Manufacturers of everything from Textiles to Acoustic matting and we have global supply chain to enable us to operate in most locations worldwide. The Association of Employees with Disability Inc. (AED) is a disability organisation located in the Melbourne CBD. In 2008, the Association established the AED Legal Centre, a specialist community legal centre providing free legal services to people with disability. Our mission is to champion the rights of people with a disability who experience disadvantage in education and/or employment and give them access to the justice system. We do this through a strategic combination of information, education, negotiation and as a last resort litigation. When the task of meeting with an employer brings fear, anxiety and concern about losing a job, AED is there to support the employee and speak on their behalf to the employer. When children with disabilities and their parents struggle to negotiate appropriate supports from education providers, AED is there to support them, reminding school communities of their obligations. AED believes in the equal right to a quality education by students with a disability in primary, secondary and tertiary settings and gives priority to cases involving students who experience exclusion in getting access or participating in education. AED's priority areas are: - Unlawful termination of employment - Jobs in jeopardy - Exclusion from educational opportunities - Special modifications in the workplace or at school - Wages and working conditions - Disclosure of disability - Bullying or harassment - Cases that are in the public interest AED services lead to empowerment with an improvement in mental well-being, self-esteem and confidence by people with disability. 100,000 people a year die from SCA and defibrillation within the first 3 minutes can increase a patient’s chances of survival by upwards of 80%. The current ambulance response time for the area around the Centre is running at 7 minutes so it is very easy to see what a difference a defibrillator can make. AEDdonate is a charity that was formed to place public access defibrillators into communities. AEDdonate provide the right support to communities when placing such specialised equipment and to also make sure the relevant links are made with each UK ambulance trust when placing AEDs into communities. This is vital for deployment to a patient that needs the use of a defibrillator. AEDdonate have placed over 800 defibrillators into communities across the UK. All AEDs are registered with UK. Ambulance trusts so they can be deployed to patients when required. Over 20,000 people were trained on basic life support and AED training through community based training sessions by AEDdonate within the year. So far AEDdonate have saved over ten lives with our public access defibrillators and will continue to place AEDs into communities.
