African School for Excellence (ASE) is rooted in a unique concept: create a self-sustaining network of elite independent secondary schools that anyone can afford. ASE focuses on 2 specific pain-points of the African education system: the quality of education provided and the cost of providing high-quality education. The ASE Model leverages peer learning and technology, while taking into account the fact that any successful model must also be scalable. Without solving both of these problems simultaneously, a good education will only be available to a fraction of the population and limit the potential of talented individuals who can transform their communities. To do this, we focus on 3 essential factors: 1. World-Class Quality. Everything begins with our commitment to excellence. We know that township scholars can compete with the worlds best students. We expect ASE scholars to graduate ready to succeed at the very best universities, both in South Africa and abroad, and we accept nothing less. 2. Affordable Sustainability. We understand that even the highest-quality educational model will not be enough to change the state of education in South African townships. ASE's refined model costs roughly 60% of current government education spending per learner, which extends the capabilities of the government to improve the state of education in South Africa. 3. Scalability. South Africa is filled with talented young people who can achieve world-class results if given the opportunity. Through our financial model, our systems, and our embedded teachers college, we maintain a ceaseless focus on scale. We seek to develop a network of 200 schools throughout the country, providing elite education to tens of thousands of disadvantaged scholars every year. We are the premier membership association of Securities Exchanges in Africa. We represent the interests of our 23 stock Exchanges. ASEA provides a forum for mutual communication, exchange of information, cooperation and technological assistance among its members, to facilitate the process of financial integration within the region for the effective mobilization of capital to accelerate economic development of Africa. ASEA supports members in the establishment of Stock Exchanges and the development of financial instruments. The association also assists in promoting the development of standards of training and professionalism amongst members and other market players, standards of listing, trading and settlement of securities, the products and services of Africa’s capital markets as well as the establishment of a data bank and information system. Together with enhancing member exchanges’ joint programs, the association aims to harmonize standards for market principals in the region.

The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) is a platform to promote and facilitate mutual cooperation among African Tax Administrations (and other relevant and interested stakeholders) with the aim of improving the efficacy of their tax legislation and administrations. The Forum brings together Heads of African Tax Administrations and their representatives to discuss the progress made, challenges faced and possible new direction for African tax policy and administration in the 21st Century. The ATAF was inspired by the deliberations at the “International Conference on Taxation, State Building and Capacity Development in Africa” held in Pretoria, South Africa from 28 - 29 August 2008. Commissioners, Senior Tax Administrators and Policy Makers from 28 African countries resolved to work towards the establishment of the ATAF. ATAF remains firmly committed to our primary mandate of building effective and efficient tax administrations on the continent, recognising that this is a critical element in boosting revenue mobilisation and building a capable state that is able to meet the needs of its citizens.
